Not Real (Reply to this comment)

Waimea Falls park is much like Sea Life Park (in fact, they are owned by the same people). It is a tourist trap and an expensive one at that. It is built on preservation land, and it's very existance degrades the environment, destroys native habitat and puts the island's water supply at risk. The displays from hula to cliff diving are not hawaiian (polynesian maybe), and the cliff diving display displaced a hawaiian family which had been living there for generations. The park has declared bankrupcy and is in the process of being purchased by the state, and will, hopefully be run in a more concientious way. There are beautiful gardens on Oahu- Foster Botanical Gardens, Lynon Arboretum, Ho'omaluhia, which are free or very inexpensive and offer a much better taste of the islands, while promoting awareness of native species and working to preserve them. Sorry, but I can't endorse this as I really feel it is inaccurate.

A really nice place. (Reply to this comment)

We were there in early April 2000 and really enjoyed it (even the occasional rain didn't bother us). It's worth checking out.

I want to go for my next vacation. You made it sound so beautiful and did an excellent job describing it. I could almost see, feel, and touch it as I read your review. Thanks. :)

for getting me away from here for a while. It's pouring rain all day and quite raw only in the high 40's.
Your wonderful review warmed me up and took me into sunshine and flowers.

I'm ready, I'm ready, right now to pack up and come to Hawaii! Seriously, we are planning a trip to the islands in Spring and Waimea Falls Park will also be on our list of must visits! Thank you.

I think I am as far away from Hawaii as you can get without starting back around the other way... Maybe someday we'll make it there. Great review!

I've been to Waimea Falls Park twice and it's been sunny both times. But I bet if it was raining, this would be an extraordinary place to be, with all that fresh air. There is so much 'jungle-cover' that the rain may not even affect you in parts of the park. I don't know? I do know that it's a place I love to go - it's beautiful, or did I say that already?
Thanks for the comment and the read.

I can't believe I missed Waimea Falls-- (Reply to this comment)

it sounds so beautiful- I can almost hear the water running, and smell the fragrant flowers. Beautiful review! It was a rainy day when we were on Oahu around the Falls area, and our driver decided it would be a waste to go there on such a day--we'll definitely have to go back!
Thanks!
