Macau...quite an adventure. Having a choice of Chinese, Portuguese or Macanese food was wonderful. With the casinos being opened most of the time you could go dining at almost anytime day or night.
The people are very friendly and the accommodations/service are excellent.
Visiting in September was great weather wise, not too hot and we encountered no rain. Also, September is the time for the firework contest, amazing is the word that comes to mind.
The cab rides are great fun, just be sure to have your hotel give you a card with your destinations written in Chinese and you will have no problem touring Macau on your on!
We felt safer walking the streets of Macau at anything, then we would in a lot of US cities. It was amazingly clean as well. With an abundance of history, Chinese and Portuguese sites to see, it is a wonderful trip for any couple. You have fairly easy access to cross over into the PRC, but that's another story!
Only down side we encountered was the mattresses are extremely hard! When we mentioned this we were told that people usually complain that the mattresses are too soft. The staff did help using extra bedding to soften the mattress.
Over all it was an excellent trip.
